Our school is a one-form entry with our own governor-led nursery. We have 209 delightful children in our school family. Leyland St James C of E Primary School truly is a place of learning and discovery where our children can develop their unique talents and reach their full potential in a happy, warm and safe atmosphere. Our mission statement is taken from the book of Philippians (2:15) where we aim for our pupils to 'shine like stars as children of God'.
As a Church of England school, we are very proud of our strong links with the Blackburn Diocese and St James' Church. We are committed to providing an outstanding learning environment rooted in Christian values, where children can flourish and blossom as individuals. We provide a wide range of experiences and are passionate about taking learning beyond the classroom. Through fostering a lifelong love of learning, we hope to help our pupils live full and happy lives, developing skills, values and qualities that prepare them for life in modern Britain and beyond.
We strive continually at the school to provide learning of the highest quality from our wonderful nursery (2+ years) through to our pupils who are in Year 6 preparing for their next stage of education. Our curriculum provides outstanding learning opportunities, through a broad and balanced range of experiences which are relevant to children’s interests and needs.
Our wrap-around service, before and after school, provides a vast range of physical and creative experiences with staff who engage in the children's interests.
You can book a visit through the office to find out more about school life – I look forward to welcoming you to our school in the future.
